In his most recent works, Hopp draws on heroes from the 90s and 00s. Figures of this kind were conceived as fictional problem solvers. In video games, comics and films, they flex their muscles and defeat any opponent who stands in their way. But the artist shows that the heroes of the near past have had their day. The model of the individualistic lone fighter fails in the face of challenges that require communal, collective action.
