The West Berlin Years – 1981 through 1990
Photographs by André Kirchner
André Kirchner heralds in the Month of Photography at the HAUS am KLEISTPARK. Primarily working with a plate camera, Kirchner’s work follows in the tradition of city photography like that of pioneers such as F. Albert Schwarz, Hermann Rückwardt, Georg Bartels, Waldemar Titzenthaler, Heinrich Zille, and Max Missmann. André Kirchner began to photograph Berlin more than 35 years ago. Now, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, this exhibition features his early work of street scenes, holes, and cracks partly shot with a miniature camera. In addition, his "night scenes" and "dismantling" series will also be on display.
His book of the same name is published by Edition Braus.
